Area description

Kršan is a small but historically rich village in Istria, located on the eastern part of the peninsula, near Labin. It is best known for its medieval fortress – Kršan Castle, which was first mentioned in the 13th century.
Kršan is also famous for the Istrian Divorce, one of the oldest written documents in the Chakavian dialect, dating back to the 14th century, which was discovered in the castle itself.

Kršan is a peaceful village that attracts visitors with its rich history, well-preserved architecture, and natural beauty. It is surrounded by a green landscape, forests, and olive groves, with numerous cycling and hiking trails in the area. Popular trails lead to Učka Nature Park, a perfect spot for nature lovers. Just a short drive away, Plomin is a charming historical town with breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea. Labin, only 15 minutes away, is a beautiful old town with art galleries, museums, and great restaurants.
